How do I know Lights On® learning is for me?

LETTER TO JULIA BLACK.

Dear Julia,
I've been feeling very negative about my ability to homeschool my son recently and his lack of motivation to learn anything. Infact today I've been feeling a sense of impending doom about starting up again tomorrow. BUT ....then I read some of a transcript from Explorium about how we might expect our kids would want to learn as long as we make the learning fun and exciting...but it's not as simple as that. And that we cant GET our kids to learn. Then I watched your back to school fb live, which, even though, we are not in the mainstream school system anymore, was still so insightful and thought provoking. Finally I watched your FB live about gearing yourself back up when the ANTs have set in..and committing yourself 100%. Well it has all spoken to me so personally today it was spooky! As for the last FB post.....bless you Julia for sharing your vulnerability. Bless you for walking your talk and being willing to use yourself as a role model for what you teach. You could easily just stay behind a professional facade and still be providing the service we have signed up and paid for. But you give SO MUCH MORE than that. you share things money can't buy. You show and share your human-ness, your vulnerability, your own ANTS, your personal and family experiences. I really hope you know and feel how much you are appreciated for that and what a powerful impact you are having on so many of us.
